Rirkrit Tiravanija’s hybrid installation performance “Free” from 1992 illustrates his ideas about what art should do and how it should be perceived. The main focus of his work is that the audience should be able to interact  and become part of the work itself. Tiravanija practice is not just a desire to break down the distinction between institutional and social space, but between artist and viewer. He believes that the viewer should be an active participant and create their own work. Through the use of food as a vessel. Tiravanija was able to transform the transaction of being in the gallery as viewers, then they realized that the art was in them. The environments he creates provide unstable, clubby atmosphere where people can act out and all behaviors  can be sanctioned

I feel that Tiravanija has unique and interesting perspective on the means in which art is created. Using this universal substance we all require he can bring people together in an environment where connectivity is the master work. The atmosphere is an engaging social experiment that is a interesting dichotomy between artist and viewer. “Free” has changed my views on art and its connection to the customer service, manufacturing and production goods to people. By using food as a vessel makes it possible to create a environment were one can outward engaging experience open to everyone not just a select few
